Brooke Marie Hyland[3] (born January 30, 1998) is the eldest daughter of Randy and Kelly Hyland and is the sister of Josh and Paige. Brooke was the oldest dancer on the elite team during her time on the show.
Prior to Dance Moms, Brooke was stated as being one of Abby's favorites.[4] However as she got older, she started to lose interest in dance and Abby started to grow cold towards Brooke for this reason.
Brooke was most notable for her extreme flexibility and contortion tricks. During earlier seasons of the show, she expressed a desire to quit dance so she could be a cheerleader instead. She also expressed hopes of joining the Cirque du Soleil.
In 2012, Brooke released her first single entitled "Summer Love Song". The following year, she released her debut album.
Brooke and her family finally departed from the show after a physical altercation between Kelly and Abby in Big Trouble in the Big Apple. During pyramid in the following episode, Abby revealed that the Hyland sisters had been dismissed from the team. Court battles ensued thereafter, with the family expressing no desire to return to the show.
In 2016, Brooke graduated high school[5]. She will be attended Ohio University.[6]

- Brooke is the oldest girl to ever permanently feature on the elite team.
- Her solos were often not shown on Dance Moms, as she competed in an older age category from the rest of the dancers on the team.[7]
- Brooke has stated on multiple occasions that the show does not show her real personality and instead portrays her as never laughing or smiling.[8][9][10]
- Before leaving the show, Brooke said that she was closest to Maddie out of all the girls on the team.
- She is a fan of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.
- Her favorite thing about dance was getting to spend time with her friends and the beautiful costumes.[11]
- She disliked the group dance "Silver Spoons".
- When Brooke was younger, she broke her growth plate. This is why she is so short in height.
- During the third season, Abby stated that Brooke and Paige were not part of her studio and only showed up to shoot the show.[12]
- She got braces at some point during the show. Like Paige's, they were removed by early May 2014.[13]
- When Brooke was younger, a golf cart ran over her foot and the doctors said she may not dance again. After she got surgery, she couldn't leave her house but the first day she could was on the same day as a dance competition. She ended up winning the National title. She stated that this was her proudest moment.[14] Abby appears to refer to the incident during a fight with Kelly at the end of Night of the Living Dancers, saying she was the first one in the hospital when Kelly's husband drove over her kid's foot, and was in the room hugging her.

- During her time on the show, Brooke did not forget any of her solos onstage.
- In April 2014, a mass stabbing incident, covered in the national and international news, occurred at her high school. Twenty-five were injured, with no fatalities.
