"The Battle Begins" is the fourteenth episode of second season of Dance Moms. It first aired on June 5, 2012.
Synopsis
At the last competition, Abby ran and left the moms and the girls at the show after Maddie froze on stage and they lost the group number to Candy Apple's. But now she is back! With Maddie sitting on the bench until she regains her confidence, Chloe holds the fate of the Abby Lee Dance Company on her shoulders. Will Abby be able to convince Maddie to dance to clinch the win?

Goofs/Errors
- When announcing what competition they would be attending, all of the headshots on the pyramid are covered, despite the fact that Abby had finished revealing pyramid moments earlier. However, in the next shot where Abby is giving out routines, the headshots can be seen again.
- During Mackenzie's solo, the dance style was labelled as lyrical despite it being acrobatic jazz.
