My mom wants me to dance even more than I want to

Vivi-Anne Quinn "Vivi" Nesbitt-Stein is the daughter of Cathy Jean Nesbitt-Stein, owner of Candy Apple's Dance Center. Her father, Mike Stein, is an insurance adjuster, and the owner of a beef jerky business. Vivi was adopted at birth by Cathy and her husband.

For the show, Vivi became a member of the Abby Lee Dance Company for part of the first season. After leaving the ALDC, Vivi performed as a dancer for her mother's studio, from late in the first season until the end of the second season. Vivi-Anne will likely be seen as a dancer on the program again in its fifth season

In Dance Moms

Season One

  • While at Abby's, Vivi-Anne was always at the bottom of the pyramid, and got very few solos. She worked with Mackenzie very often because of their close age group. Vivi herself said that her mother wanted her to dance more than she did.
  • Vivi Nesbitt Stein also mentioned that she would prefer playing softball over dance, to which her mom Cathy Nesbitt Stein replied with, "I would rather slit my wrists!"
  • In The Competition Begins, Cathy reveals she had been coaching Vivi-Anne since she was eighteen months old.
  • Because she didn't want Vivi to cry whenever she tried to give her corrections, she decided to take her to another dance studio (in this case, Abby's) and just be a mom.
  • Cathy tries to get Abby to let Vivi compete at the upcoming competition, but Abby didn't think it was possible because she thought Vivi was not ready to compete.
  • In Wildly Inappropriate, Vivi says her favorite things to do are dance and softball. She also says that she has to go a lot of places for competition and that she sometimes wishes she could just stay home.
  • Abby feels as though Vivi needs a lot of work, but that she was going to let her compete that week anyway because it would be good for her. She decides to let her do a jazz duet with Mackenzie.
  • The moms watch Vivi as she practices and Abby notices, saying that the moms have caused many dancers to leave by watching and degrading them.
  • One day before the competition, Cathy brings Vivi up to the moms’ den and introduces her to the other moms.

Season Two

  • In Season Two, Vivi is part of the Candy Apple's competition team that often competes (and loses) against Abby Lee .
  • She and her friend Justice are often called "human props" to allow her fellow dancers (otherwise averaged into older age groups) able to compete against the ALDC team.

Season Three

  • In Season Three, Vivi is not a part of the Candy Apple's competition team as Cathy wanted an all-boy team and even when she started letting girls into the group (i.e. Hadley Walts, Mari Dudash, Nicaya Wiley, etc.), Vivi still didn't compete with them. However, she did travel with the team to competitions to support them.

Season Four

  • In Season Four, Vivi is still not a part of the Candy Apple's competition team, but she still travels with the team to competitions to support them.

Season Five

  • In Showdown in Pittsburgh, Part 1, Cathy says that when she and her husband adopted Vivi, they could have made her an American citizen right then, but decided to wait so Vivi could hold the flag and understand what it meant to become an American citizen.
